Was born in Lima, Peru in 1959. She is considered among the most talented impressionist artists in South America. Her sophisticated use of light and color, sets her apart from the other impressionist painters. Married with another well established artist, José Cortez, Ana María has long passed the initial stage of uncertainty that every artist has to face. She studied painting at the ENBA, from where she graduated with the highest honors in 1989. Additionally, from 1993 to 1997, she studied etching, where she also graduated with the highest honors. Ana María has been very active at exhibiting her work, both at One Person Exhibitions and Group Exhibitions (more than 50) , as well as, participating in contests.
