Zac Bendrick

Zac was born in San Diego, California but moved to Kansas City when he was 11. On a whim, he decided to take a painting class in high school. What he didn’t expect to find was a new creative outlet that would eventually turn into his passion. During university, Zac studied Graphic Design. However, due to his course load and athletic commitments, he had to put his painting on the back-burner. After graduating with his degree, Zac found he had more time to focus on his portrait and abstract works where he experiments with the balance of color and space in his expressionist work.

Inspiration

In his paintings, Zac uses the nose and eyes as an anchor point for his pieces. Giving the viewer a jumping off point to the rest of the composition. Experimenting with expressionism his art conveys what he has experienced and imagines how others would feel in the moment. With bold strokes of paint and large sections of colors, these people he has created take on a life of their own within the viewers imagination. With the expressive voice of a paint and brush you can see the dramatic and emotional themes that are prominent throughout all his works.
